10 year old Canadian boy leads protest

This one gets filed under weird...

Nov. 11 (Bloomberg) -- A 10-year-old British Columbia student is leading a campaign to boycott Canadian outlets of McDonald's Corp., the world's No. 1 restaurant chain, to protest the U.S.'s refusal to return softwood-lumber duties to Canada.

Titled ``Yo Yo Yo Give us our dough; no Mc-D on December 3,'' the campaign targets McDonald's because it's ``the most famous U.S. company in the world,'' according to the Web site of Luke McAndless-Davis in Westminster, British Columbia. He said he learned about the trade dispute in school.

The boycott, supported by Canada's second-biggest union, is aimed at getting the attention of U.S. President George W. Bush, McAndless-Davis said. Canada's government has demanded the U.S. return more than C$5 billion ($4.2 billion) in duties collected from Canadian lumber companies, which the U.S. has called unfairly subsidized. The U.S. has so far refused.

Too bad they weren't teaching logic in school because boycotting McDonald's over lumber trade dispute makes almost zero sense.

What are they teaching kids these days. When I was 10, I was more interested in playing dodgeball at recess and maybe convincing my parents to take me to McDonald's for dinner than international trade agreements and non sequiitors.
