OK, this is just wrong...

I remember when my dog was a puppy. Her eyes were bigger than her stomach as she ate her food as well as my roommate's dog's food and her belly distended so much she could barely stand up. It wasn't because I surgically implanted a pound of heroin in her like these guys...

Colombian drug dealers allegedly turned puppies into drug "mules."

Federal officials said Wednesday they arrested 10 smugglers in Colombia for implanting packets of liquid heroin into six Labrador retriever puppies, causing three to die from infections.

An indictment unsealed Wednesday in federal court in Brooklyn named the 10 defendants. Besides the puppies, it is alleged they also employed human "swallowers" and more traditional smuggling methods, such as hiding the drugs in luggage linings and aerosol cans to get the drugs to the U.S. and on to New York.

Using a makeshift mobile veterinary facility in Colombia, the smuggling ring operated on at least six puppies, implanting one-pound packets into the abdomens of each of them, said Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman Garrison Courtney.

Drug dealers are puppy killers! Think of that next time you go to score some dope. Every time you need to get that fix, a drug dealer kills a puppy! Don't make me sick PETA on you!

UPDATE: C'mon... I know you've all got the comments for this one... OK, I'll start it off...

What on earth could make those poor pups to turn to drugs and a life of crime... Maybe it was growing up in a single bitch household...

Now I put that in the comments over at CrosBlog, and instead of totally defiling Gib's blog I'll ruin my own. And to be honest, that was a comment made by a friend of mine at work when he saw the story. I don't have that good a sense of humor.
