Arnold, please let Tookie Williams die

I pray to God he doesn't stay the execution which is currently scheduled for December 13th. Arnold will hear the clemency plea on the 8th, and I've got to say if he grants the clemency plea, he can kill his reelection plans right there. Phil Angelides is the Republican candidate who plans to run against Arnold and he will beat him like a red-headed stepchild over this execution if it doesn't go forward. Arnold just appointed a waaaaaaay left wing advisor, so this execution could bring him back to the good graces of California conservatives.

As for the execution, if you're in the SoCal area tune in to the "Tookie Must Die" hour on the John and Ken show (Mon-Fri 5-6PM) for the latest. And if you encounter any anti-death penalty people just let them know it could be a lot worse... we could be executing drug dealers like Singapore.

Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- Singapore executed Australian drug smuggler Nguyen Tuong Van today after rejecting requests from Australian Prime Minister John Howard to spare his life.

The 25-year-old was hanged at Changi Prison this morning, Singapore's Ministry of Home Affairs said in a statement e-mailed to Bloomberg News. Church bells rang out in Nguyen's home town of Melbourne at 9 a.m., when he was scheduled to be executed.

Nguyen is the first Australian to be executed in 12 years, after being caught at Changi Airport with 396 grams (14 ounces) of pure heroin in 2002. He claims he was working for a Sydney drug syndicate to help his twin brother Khoa, a former addict, pay A$30,000 ($22,000) in debts.

If they've got that much time on their hands, tell the Amnesty International freaks to go to Singapore. I can't say I'm in favor of killing drug dealers, but Singapore does have extremely low rates of drug use. Death penalty can be a deterrent if used right...
