Governor Schwarzenegger denies Clarence Ray Allen's clemency plea

Since no one's paying attention to the white guy who's about the die, I thought I'd make it my civic duty to let you know...

(LATimes) Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger today denied Allen clemency. Barring a last-minute reprieve by the courts, the governor's decision means Allen will become the second-oldest person put to death since the U.S. Supreme Court allowed capital punishment to resume in 1976.

As a side note, if you're put off by the fact that he's the second oldest ever to be executed, maybe if we had executed him sooner than 24 years after his sentencing, he wouldn't be the second oldest to be executed. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be blind, deaf, or in a wheelchair either.

Just a thought.
