Another successful joint Iraqi-US operation kills 30 terrorists, captures another ket figure

Good terrorist = dead terrorist.

Oct. 9 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. and Iraqi Army forces captured a ``high-value'' suspect and killed about 30 insurgents who damaged a tank during an arrest operation, the U.S. military said.

The insurgents died yesterday as they fired on a joint U.S.- Iraqi patrol in Diwaniyah, about 150 kilometers (93 miles) south of the capital, Baghdad, the military said in an e-mailed statement. They used small arms and rocket-propelled grenades that disabled the U.S. Abrams tank.

The detainee is accused of being involved in the murder of Iraqi soldiers in Diwaniyah on Aug. 28, the military said. The man was identified as Kifah al-Greiti, a commander in the Mahdi Army, a militia loyal to Shiite Muslim cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, Agence France-Presse reported, citing an unidentified Iraqi defense official. At least 20 Iraqi soldiers were killed in the Aug. 28 clashes with Shiite militiamen.

Our servicemen and women continue to put their lives on the line to help the Iraqis secure their country.

God bless 'em.
